DEFIANCE

Our word for 2011 is defiance.

defiance. 2011 will be the year we discover the power of self. Our questions, once internalised and unspoken,
will find voice and seek answers. Real answers. So each of us will discover his or her power; a power which demands an outlet, which cannot remain still. The bubble has burst and the energy flows. Roars. We will demand openness, transparency, fairness. We will seek new solutions, turn everything on its head. We will no longer accept what you say or wait for you to create our future. We will reclaim. We will defy expectations. We will not be defined by what we have; we will be judged by what we do. You will be judged by what you
do. We will challenge, we will push, we will persist, we will win. We will defy how we have been trained to act and be. And we will reward those who help us.
